NATIONAL: HEAVY OIL
Year of Manufacture: 1929
42 HP Type NT
Starts on diesel, in service runs on heavy oil. Weight 97 and a half Cwt. High pressure air start - 275psi - produced from national AC3 compressor, stored in air receiver. Once started the main engine drives the compressor to recharge. This engine is complete in every detail:- National Donkey Engine & and compressor, original fuel tanks and air receiver.
Originally usaed as a stand-by generating engine at Park Hall Army Camp, Oswestry until 1971. Removed and installed as an exhibit at Cold Hatton by late Byn Jones and Graham Wylde. The engine was acquired during 2009 and installed here in 2010-11.
